We welcome drivers of all levels & provide a relaxed, friendly environment to help you feel at ease behind the wheel. Whitecliff Off Road Centre was established in 1997 & 4x4 courses take place in our scenic private site which is just a short ride/walk from our main building. We offer gift experiences - Introductory & Advanced courses, Owner-driver training & Junior off-road experiences for those 14 years & over or for provisional licence holders.
For work-based training our BORDA instructors provide professional 4x4 or UTV off road training compliant with PUWER regulations; NB: Your staff must receive 'adequate & appropriate' training on work-placed equipment. For anyone looking for an instructional based course, our informal training can be certificated or uncertificated depending on your needs. A professional team of off-road trainers.
Geraldine; a trained mechanic who’s spent over 40yrs within the off road environment from trialing, racing to becoming a qualified Borda & Lantra instructor. She has arranged & led numerous gift experience days & 4x4 driver training courses so you can be assured that Geraldine can answer any queries you may have when emailing/calling our center.
Our team of five are all experienced in a variety of off road disciplines are led by Dave Hooper, a qualified Borda Specialist Trainer for 4x4's & Winch training plus he is a Borda Assessor & authorised by the International Organisation Of Professional Drivers as an Advanced Vehicle Control Trainer. Dave has a mass of off road experience & competes in CCV trails in his V8 Land Rover with his local club; races his 6.2litre Lofthouse Fiesta with the British Off Road Cross Country Championships & he is also a UK Land Rover Defender Rally Series navigator, trainer, demonstrator & race driver with Bowler Motorsport.

Our vehicles are carefully maintained, ensuring an excellent safety record. Whitecliff4x4’s training site offers a variety of surfaces and is one of the best in the UK. A spectacular scenic environment with terrain & obstacles ranging from flat slippery surfaces, to cross-axle situations, mud, water (weather permitting) and from mild, moderate to steep inclines and declines. We continue to improve the site & have many new circuits and even steeper ascents and descents.

Our half or full day owner driver courses are specifically for those wanting to learn the off road capability of their own 4×4 vehicle.
These 1:1 courses start with an explanation of your vehicles 4WD system & any tractions aids which may be fitted to fully understand how to gain the best from your 4x4 & to realise it limitations, which is imperative when driving off road.

The best 4x4 gift by far
Our gift vouchers are a great way of treating FAMILY or friends & are valid for 12 months. We are open all year (excl. bank holidays & Xmas). Courses run Monday to Saturday, but with enough notice groups of 6 or more can discuss a Sunday, NB: Group discount prices won't apply on a Sunday.
All courses must be pre-booked. NB: WE DO NOT OFFER 'PAY & PLAY' EVENTS.
