PROFESSIONAL 4X4
OFF-ROAD DRIVER TRAINING
The demand for employees to be certificated,
complying with PUWER, the Provison for Use of
Work Equipment Regulations, requires nationally
recognised off-road instructors to supply your
training. Whitecliff Off Road Ltd. has LANTRA &
BORDA qualified instructors to train and/or assess
your staff on a professional level. We specialise in
‘professional training’ qualifications for anyone using
four wheel drive vehicles in the workplace.
Our 4x4 training course comply with the HSE’s
requirement for ‘adequate training’, covering
subjects such as types of 4wd systems and their
mechanical complexities, health & safety issues
and risk assessment. We also run Health &
Safety in winching courses from our own basic
‘adequate training’ to the professional LANTRA
H&S risk assessment & management in winching.
Theoretical and practical tasks will be completed
during the course with the guidance and support of
your instructor. You will be required to bring your
driving licence, lunch, relevant outdoor clothing and
footwear and your 4x4 vehicle normally used for work
together with it’s handbook or manual showing it’s
4wd operating system.
During the course you will gain experience and
knowledge of the 4x4 vehicle you are expected to
use in the work-place, whilst putting theory into
practice with your instructor alongside. We will show
you safe techniques to successfully negotiate
problems which commonly occur whilst driving in offroad
conditions. Fewer breakages occur with a
better understanding of how the vehicle works.
Trainees will receive a certificate of attendance or if
they have completed an assessment course, a
further certificate will be issued acknowledging that
they have reached the level laid out in the Codes Of
Practice of the relevant governing body. Please ask for
details.
We also run Trailer-Towing Training for private & professional drivers, for details click here.
